Particia Henry is an associate professor of Indonesian language and literature at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois, where she has taught in the department of Foreign Languages & Literatures since 1979. She received her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Michigan in 1981, with a concentration in Southeast Asian Languages and Literatures; her dissertation was an annotated translation of the Old Javanese kakawin Arjuna Wiwaaha. She has published on traditional and modern Indonesian literature, and is presently working on Indonesian language instruction materials to be used via NIU’s Southeast Asian Language website.
