Judith McNeill is the senior GIS Specialist and Information Systems Manager for International Archaeological Research Institute in Honolulu. Ms. McNeill holds a M.A. and is all-but-dissertation for a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Hawai‘i. She has conducted four years of archaeological research in Thailand, including dissertation research under a Fulbright fellowship, which focused on settlement pattern change and its relationship to ecological variability in the Phimai region. In addition, Ms. McNeill has directed archaeological excavations, burial recovery, and GIS mapping projects in Hawai‘i, Micronesia, Korea, and Okinawa, Japan. She directed excavation of the remains of over 150 individuals from a Guam coastal burial site and undertook analysis of the burial patterns. Her major research interests include GIS applications to archaeological problems, analysis of spatial patterns, mortuary patterning, and development of regional and interregional exchange systems.

David Welch is Senior Archaeologist and Projects Manager with International Archaeological Research Institute in Honolulu. Dr. Welch received his Ph.D. from the University of Hawai‘i, conducting NSF-funded grant research on late prehistoric agricultural intensification and urbanization in the Phimai region of northeast Thailand. He has conducted four years of archaeological research in Thailand, including two years as a Fulbright fellow and consultant to the Prince of Songkhla University in southern Thailand. Dr. Welch has directed and managed numerous archaeological surveys and excavations in the Pacific, including projects in the Hawaiian Islands, Mariana Islands, Palau, and Kosrae, and in East Asia, in Korea and Okinawa, Japan. His major research interests include the Southeast Asian origins of Pacific island settlement, early exchange networks, agricultural intensification, and the development of urban centers in mainland Southeast Asia.
