Module: Exploring The Maya World

Maya culture is the focus of this module. The module includes instructions and assignments prepared for use on a web-based Geographical Information System (GIS). When you complete these activities you will better understand the geography of Mesoamerica, the distribution of ancient Maya settlements, the complexity of ancient trade routes, as well as the distribution of modern Maya people in Mesoamerica today. With this knowledge, you will be able to compare Maya culture with other cultures found around the world today and in the past.
